U&A is located in central Birmingham on Bromsgrove Street in Digbeth, just south of the city centre near the popular Gay Village and Chinese Quarter, and only a 9 minute walk from Birmingham New Street Station and The Bullring.
U&A sits between the main road of Bristol Street and a newly developing industrial area, just outside the vibrant and lively Gay Village. The 02 Birmingham music venue and multiple hotels and picturesque churches are within a 3-minute walking distance. The site is also close to the Chinese Quarter, which is home to a large number of restaurants, bars, and other entertainment options.
Well connected to the rest of the city, a walk a further north leads to Central Square, the Jewellery Quarter, and also Digbeth, which is known for its street food.
The Gay Village is a small but vibrant area with clubs, bars, and pubs. The Village expanded from just the Nightingale Club and Windmill bar in the 1980s, to a larger area with multiple bars and venues in the surrounding streets. The Gay Village is now visited by thousands of people each week. The main street is decorated with street art and there are multi-coloured streamers strung over your head.
