We are delighted to announce that Dandara Living received the 'Local Sourcing' Community Award for our Stafford Yard development in Bristol at the 2023 Leading Lights Awards
The awards, organised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) recognise developers who demonstrate their commitment to the environment, their workforce and make a significant contribution to the local communities in which they operate.
So far, the Stafford Yard project has supported the employment of over 90 people locally including apprenticeships and those indirectly employed through our supply-chain. We have worked 16 local companies including ECE Westworks, Hydrock, Ridge, Pulse Consult, JG Brickwork, and Bristol Art Junkie, among others. In addition, the local team had set a target to procure approximately a third of all goods and materials (by value) within a 30-mile radius. This combined contribution translates to an estimated £16 million social and local value created for the local and wider Bristol economy.
In addition to laying the groundwork for our portfolio of pipeline sites in Bristol, this commitment extends beyond construction and economic impact. Through collaborations with local organisations including Learnmat, Ways2Work Bristol City, Work Force for the Future, Green Line, and UWE Bristol, our team has also contributed over 370 hours (between Sept 22 – Sept 23) of their time in support of various local employment and skills development projects run by these organisations.
Winning this award is a testament to our holistic approach to development. We take a long-term view and believe that investment in the local communities we operate in is the key to driving and delivering sustainable development and growth. This recognition validates the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, especially the local team who have been critical in the success of our social value efforts and inspires us to continue building on the positive outcomes achieved so far.
